The identities of three people killed in a multiple-vehicle accident on Interstate 40 on Friday afternoon have been released.
They were identified as Traci Burns, 35, of Greer Road, Goodlettsville; Joey A. Curtis, 26, of Boone Drive, Cookeville; and Elan R. Burns, 21, of Greer Road, Goodlettsville.
They were in a four-door 1996 Toyota Camry driving by Traci Burns.
According to the report, the Camry was traveling west on I-40 when it crossed the median, striking a 2004 Ford F150 pickup truck in the rear, driven by Jerry Griffin, 59, of Central Pike, Mt. Juliet.
The Camry continued on, hitting the tandems of a tractor trailer, 2006 Mack truck, driven by Wilson Williams, 60, of Wallace Road, Madison. The tractor trailer was hauling paint.
The impact caused the car to roll over coming to rest upside down in the eastbound lane of I-40. The three occupants of the car were pronounced dead at the scene.
It was reported that the car caught fire, but first responders were able to extinguish the flames.
Neither Griffin nor Williams were injured.
