So, the other day my husband came back from criminal court in Gallatin.
“You are not going to believe it”, he said “someone stole my I-pod right out of my briefcase!”
I thought to myself, - - what kind of &#%$ steals while IN criminal court.

My daughter is getting married in a few weeks. I’d appreciate some ideas for her thank-you notes. We’ve already had the note cards printed. I want to know what she should write. I’d appreciate it if you could answer this quickly. Gifts are already coming in! Thank you.

As Tennesseans enjoy the cooler temperatures and changing leaves of fall, TDOT Maintenance forces across the state are focused on the winter months ahead. Although we don't typically see severe winters in the Southeast, even small amounts of snow or ice can cripple our transportation system and create dangerous conditions for motorists. And, the wet weather pattern we've seen for much of 2009 makes one wonder if this could be a winter to remember.

Commuter rail service was stopped from Nashville to Lebanon, and homes near the Music City Star station on Baddour Parkway were evacuated yesterday when a city sanitation worker discovered a “suspicious box” that authorities said look as if it had been placed at the bottom of a trash container.
Lebanon Police confirmed the sanitation worker’s discovery and shortly before 2 p.m. on Tuesday blocked off entrances into the commuter station, ordered the evacuation of homes along Hill Street and nearby North Greenwood and called for emergency assistance from the Tennessee Highway Patrol’s bomb squad..

After siding with Ward 6 Councilor Kathy Warmath at the previous meeting on buying trucks from Mt. Juliet instead of Nashville, Mayor Philip Craighead broke two tied votes against shopping in the county.
The first vote was for a three-quarter ton pickup truck for the Sewer Department to be bought from Two Rivers Ford in Mt. Juliet for around $700 more than the lowest bid from Alexander Chevrolet. The vote was tied with Councilors Alex Buhler, Ward 1; William Farmer, Ward 3; and Joe Hayes, Ward 4, voting against, and Kevin Huddleston, Ward 2; Haywood Barry, Ward 5; and Warmath voting in favor. Craighead voted against the ordinance.
Veterans Day is Wednesday, Nov. 11, and for veterans this day has a very deep personal significance.
This is true for almost all Americans. It is a day set aside each year to honor our veterans and remember that our freedom was earned and can only be maintained at a price. For many this price was and is the ultimate sacrifice of our service men and women’s lives, separation from our families and at many other costs. We believe this cost is worth the price and the effort in maintaining our freedoms.

For most children in America, Christmas is seen as a yearly event where they are showered with every gift they want.
Even when times are tough, most parents are still able to get their children at least some gifts.

“We are setting a baseline for the future,” said Dr. Timothy Webb, commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Education. “We are trying to help our state compete nationally and globally.”
