James William Floyd, 88

WATERTOWN -- Funeral services are scheduled for 12 Noon Friday, March 26 at the Hunter Funeral home for Mr. Floyd, 88, of Nashville. A native of Wilson County and former owner of Floyd Insurance Agency, Mr. Floyd died Mar. 23, 2010 at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage.

A member of Lebanon's Immanuel Baptist Church, he was a veteran, having served in the US Third Army during World War II under Gen. George S. Patton. Mr. Floyd was a 54 year member of Comer Lodge, No. 417 Free & Accepted Masons, where he served as treasurer for many years.

The family will receive friends Friday from 10 a.m. until the service. Services will be conducted by Pastor John Hunn and Rev. W.D. Thomason. Burial will follow at the Wilson County Memorial Park.

Survivors include: his wife of 62 years Mary Anne Thorne Floyd and children Linda Ford and Bill Floyd -- all of Nashville. Also surviving are grandsons John and Bradley Floyd along with several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or to Immanuel Baptist Church.   Hunter Funeral Home, Watertown, is in charge of arrangements.

Willie Mai Tomlinson, 90

LEBANON -- Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, March 27 at the Cedar Creek Baptist Church for Mrs. Tomlinson, 90, of Lebanon. A former employee of the Lebanon Garment Factory, she died Mar. 25, 2010 at the Pavilion in Lebanon.

Born January 28, 1920, in Trousdale County, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Omer Shaffer Edwards. Mrs. Tomlinson was a member of the Cedar Creek Baptist Church

Visitation Friday 2-8 p.m. at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home and Saturday after 11 a.m. at the Cedar Creek Baptist Church. Services will be conducted by Rev. John Petree, Rev. Clive Bell and Rev. Mike Shelby. Interment will follow at the Wilson County Memorial Gardens. 

Survivors include: children Doris (Willie Clay) Oliver, Ray Allen (Tommie Rae) Tomlinson, Kenneth (Phyllis) Tomlinson and Lorie (Larry) Blackburn. Also surviving are sisters Mrs. Floyd Dixon and Mrs. Novie Maggart -- both of Lebanon; grandchildren Clayton Oliver, Eddie Oliver, Tony (Janet) Tomlinson, Anita (Don) Cornwell, Tim (Carolyn) Tomlinson, Keith (Kim) Tomlinson, Kelsey Blackburn, Katie Blackburn and Timmy Smith; great grandchildren Travis Campbell, Eli Tomlinson, Ashley Cornwell, Ryan Tomlinson, Austin Tomlinson, Avery Tomlinson, Lauren Tomlinson, John Tomlinson and Taryn Smith; and great, great grandchildren Madelyn and Maleah Campbell.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Eugene Tomlinson in 1994; and brother J. H. Edwards.

Pallbearers: Clayton and Eddie Oliver, Tony, Keith and Tim Tomlinson, Larry Balckburn, Don Cornwell and Timmy Smith.   Arrangements by Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home.
