Charles Lendon Painter, 81
LEBANON -- Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, June 18 at Westland United Methodist Church for Mr. Painter, 81, of Seminole, Fla. -- formerly of Lebanon.
Born in Franklin County, he died Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Fla.
Mr. Painter was retired from the Tennessee National Guard, Bellsouth Telephone and the Jolley Trolley. He was a Methodist and member of the Masonic Order.
Survivors include: wife Dorothy; sons Robert "Bobby" and Lee Painter of Tennessee; daughter Carol Driskell of Florida; four siblings; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Westland United Methodist Church.
Jamie Izaular "Lucy" Richardson, 53
LEBANON -- Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Friday, June 17 at Picket Rucker United Methodist Church for Ms. Richardson, 53, of Lebanon.
Ms. Richardson died Tuesday, June 14 at The Pavilion. She was a member of Pickett Rucker United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time. Pastor Robert Jordan will officiate.
Survivors include: sisters Mattie Spinks, Eddie White, Estella Richardson and Anita Walden and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Sweatt and Ora Lee Blair Richardson and brother, Thomas Edward Richardson.
Lebanon's Saddler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Joseph Murtough, 87
WATERTOWN -- Memorial services were held Thursday evening, June 16 at the Hunter Funeral Home for Mr. Murtough, 87, of Watertown.
A veteran of the U.S. Army (Korean Conflict), he died Sunday, June 12, 2011 at the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro.
Mr. Murtough was a medical aide in the mental health field.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nettie Belle Murtough and parents, George Murtough and Margaret O'Mara Murtough.
Survivors include: niece Linda McCaffrey of Warwick, R.I.; three step-children and many neighbors and friends in Watertown.
Watertown's Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Joyce Sloan Smithwick, 79
LEBANON -- Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, June 17 at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home for Ms. Smithwick, 79, of Lebanon.
Born October 10, 1931, in Rutherford County, she died Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at Quality Care.
The daughter of the late Robert Earl & Leona F. Adams Sloan, Ms. Sloan was a 1950 graduate of Lebanon High School and a homemaker. She was a member of the Mount Olivet Baptist Church.
Visitation after 9 a.m. Friday at Ligon & Bobo.
Services will be conducted by Pastor Jamie R. Watson. Interment will follow at the Greenvale Cemetery.
Survivors include: children Pamela (Steve) Yates of Williamsburg, KY; Theresa (Doug) Luick of Richmond, KY; Bobby Watson and Phillip (Lyse) Watson -- all of Lebanon; and William Smithwick Jr. of Murfreesboro.
Also surviving are siblings Nelda Garrett, Robbie (Raymond) Lea and Melvin (Beverly) Sloan -- all of Lebanon; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and special caregiver Kim Bradshaw.
She was preceded in death by brothers Ralph Sloan and Marcus Edmund Sloan.
Honorary pallbearers: Staff of Quality Care and the Sunday School Class of Quality Care. Active pallbearers: John, Jasen, Cory, Nick and Jesse Watson and Marc Lea.
The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of Quality Care for their excellent care.
