ATHENS -- Corey Rhoney tossed a four-hit shutout with no walks and five strikeouts for No. 9 Tennessee Wesleyan in a 1-0 victory over 15th-ranked Cumberland on Friday at Jack Bowling Field.
Cory Urquhart posted two of the four hits for the Bulldogs (24-12-1), singles in the first and sixth innings, while Brodie Ross doubled in the seventh and Tyler Alford added a two-bagger in the ninth.
Ross and pinch-runner Hunter Bartlett were both stranded at third, with Rhoney getting a pair of groundouts to end the seventh and a line out and another ground ball to finish off the eighth.
