SPRINGFIELD, IL -- Watertown native Grace Allen Grant, 90, passed away peacefully June 25, 2013 at her residence in Springfield, Illinois. Born December 22, 1922 in Wilson County to the late Frank and Vessie (Nettles) Mabry, she was a 1941 graduate of Watertown High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Bill R. Grant in 2005. She is also preceded in death by her brothers Ben, Claud and Milton Mabry.
Memorial services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, June 29 at Sellars Funeral Home, 313 W. Baddour Pkwy, for Mr. Roy Van Brindley, 87, of Lebanon. A decorated U.S. Navy veteran who served during World War II, he died the morning of Saturday, June 22, 2013.
He was on May 24, 1926 in Morgan County, Alabama to the late Leonidas Polk and Zuma Ward Brindley. Mr. Brindley owned and operated several businesses, was a realtor for Brindley Realty Company, worked for L&N Railroad, several bakeries, and also worked at the Davidson County Sheriffs Department.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, June 28 at Sellars Funeral Home, 313 Baddour Parkway, for Mr. Turner, 61, of Lebanon. He died June 22, 2013.
Funeral services were held Thursday morning, June 27 at Bond Memorial Chapel for Mrs. Wooten, 83, of Mt. Juliet. Retired from Neely's Bend Elementary, she died Monday, June 24, 2013.
Funeral services were held Thursday evening, June 27 at the Sellars Funeral Home / Stone Mansion, for Mr. Harmon, 64, of Lebanon. He died June 23, 2013.
Arrangements were in the care of Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon.
Mr. Turk, 49, of Lebanon, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013 after a long battle against cancer. He was born on June 21, 1964 in Catskill, NY. At his request, there will be no service.
CHARLOTTE, NC -- Mr. Smith, 84, of Charlotte, NC passed away June 26, 2013 at the Brian Center.
He was born July 13, 1928 in Anderson, SC, son of the late Marion B. Smith and Ethel Gary Smith.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Evelyn Westbrook Smith, son Miles A. Smith (of Lebanon) and grandson Todd Smith.

Investigtion launched into credit card use
BULLETIN -- Zone 5 Wilson County Board of Education member Greg Lasater has resigned.
School board Chairman Don Weathers told The Wilson Post that Lasater resigned from his position on the board as of Thursday afternoon.
Lasater is under investigation by the Wilson County Sheriffs Department, where he is employed as a deputy and as a school resource officer, regarding his use of the departments credit card.
