PERALTA FROM ODESSA COLLEGE --
Cumberland baseball coach Woody Hunt has bolstered his rotation for the 2014 season with the recent signing of hard throwing Jhon Peralta from Odessa Community College in Texas.
A right-hander who hails from the Dominican Republic, Peralta went 8-3 with an ERA of 3.30 for the Wranglers in 2013 -- helping his team to a record of 34-17.
Jhon threw a bullpen for us during our last week of baseball camp and I really liked what I saw, Hunt said, we needed a power arm to go along with our other weekend guys. He can really run it up there.
