Armstrong repeats as 500K winner

314 mile race end in Georgia --
CASTLE ROCK, Ga. -- Friendship Christian teacher / coach and ultra marathon runner Greg Armstrong repeated as champion of "The Last Annual Vol State 500K" early Monday morning.

His time of 3 days 22 hours 05 minutes 23 seconds was the fourth fastest time in Vol State history.

He becomes the first runner to repeat as champion, having won in 2014, and joins DeWayne Satterfield as the only two-time winner of the race.

Armstrong battled through a cracked rib and extreme heat / humidity.

At the time of Armstrong's finish, some 60 other runners were still on the 314 mile course.
