Funeral arrangements have been finalized for Betsy Joe Eatherly, 58, of Lebanon.
A U.S. Navy veteran and a former attendance secretary at Lebanon High School, Ms. Eatherly died unexpectedly while on vacation with friends in Paris, France the weekend of June 14-15.
A 1974 graduate of Lebanon High School and the daughter of longtime local real estate agent John Eatherly, she had planned this trip for several years with two friends -- both of whom had military backgrounds.
"Betsy was a good friend of mine, we worked together at Lebanon High," said LHS French teacher Dr. Charles Bozman. "She and the others in her group went to the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial to lay a wreath honoring the war dead from Tennessee."
Dr. Bozman, who leads a student group to France every summer, indicated Ms. Eatherly was not part of the Lebanon High travel group, but had, "tagged along" with their own itinerary.
