The attempted burglary Tuesday night, reportedly resulted in $5,000 in damages to walls and locks, although no merchandise was stolen, according to MJ Police.
At approximately 10:55 p.m., the MJPD responded to the T-Mobile store located at 5017 Crossing Circle, in reference to a burglar alarm activation. Upon arrival, officers found that the business had been burglarized but found no suspects within the store.
Further investigation revealed the suspect entered the Natural Nails Too business, which shares a common wall with T-Mobile. Several large holes were discovered in the wall, in what authorities believed to be an attempt to enter the T-Mobile store. However, due to security features inside the wall, the suspects were unable to make a successful entry. Authorities also say the alarm, which triggered at T-Mobile, caused the suspects to flee the scene.
Business owners conducted an inventory and the department said no merchandise was stolen, however the holes in the wall and busted locks were estimated at over $5,000 in damages.
