POLE WINNER TAKES CHECKERS
LEBANON -- One week after coming up just short, Austin Dillon became the fourth consecutive driver to win from the pole at Nashville Superspeedway when he held off points leader Johnny Sauter in the Lucas Deep Clean 200.
Driving the Richard Childress Racing Chevy, Dillon took only two tires on his final pit stop and restarted first, but Sauter and his four fresh tires quickly took over the lead. Max Papis' truck erupted in flames, stopping the action for the final time.
On the final green-flag run, the 21 year-old Dillon methodically tracked down Sauter and regained the lead for good with 20 laps remaining for his third career victory.
Sauter, Timothy Peters, Nelson Piquet Jr. and Parker Kligerman rounded out the top five.
