Commanders fall in region opener
LEBANON -- Friendship Christian's baseball season came to an end Tuesday, May 10 as Battle Ground Academy scored a 5-2 come from behind win over the Commanders in the opening round of the East-Middle region tournament.

FCS was clinging to a 2-1 lead when BGA struck for four runs in the top of the seventh.

Ninth grader Braden Reece was tagged with the loss. He scattered six hits in 6.1 innings of work before giving way to reliever Marshall Taylor.

Taylor, Tarver Hayslip and Jackson Cherry had the only hits for Friendship -- all singles.

BGA lefty Sam Folks went the distance, striking out 13 and walking just two.

Friendship Christian ended the season 19-16 overall.

FCS reached the regionals with a 2-0 victory over Donelson Christian Friday, May 6 as Reece threw a complete game shutout.
