Four-year Blue Devil starter
Lebanon High second baseman Bryce Lester inked scholarship papers Monday afternoon with Freed-Hardeman University, an NAIA institution located in Henderson. Lester has played for three LHS baseball coaches in his career, Brian Black in 2013, Tony Long in 2014 and Eric Vetetoe for the past two seasons.

An All District 9-AAA selection and a team captain, Lester is the son of Kip and Sherry Lester.

"Bryce really impressed us during his on-campus workout," said FHU coach Jonathan Estes. "He's very steady in the field, just what we're looking for."

A member of the American Midwest Conference, Freed-Hardeman sports an overall record of 15-4 headed into a weekend conference series Friday, March 11 as they host Hannibal LaGrange (Mo.) University at Carnes Field.

Lebanon is scheduled to open the 2016 season at Brent Foster Field Monday, March 14 against Smith County High. First pitch is set for 7 p.m.
