BASEBALL -- LHS at Gallatin altered

Central hosts Illinois team
Lebanon High's baseball team will open District 9-AAA play this afternoon as the Blue Devils travel to Sumner County to take on longtime rival Gallatin.

First pitch is set for 4 p.m. at David Alexander Field in the Gallatin Municipal Park. First set for 7 p.m., the contest was moved up in hopes of avoiding impending rain later this evening.

The Green Wave started the season 5-0 and stood 7-1 headed into a Tuesday game with Mt. Juliet.

LHS stands 6-3 after a 2-2 performance in the Gulf Coast Nike Classic.

The Blue Devils opens play Thursday in the Warrior Spring Classic -- taking on Forrest High at Blackman High. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.

LHS is slated to play William Mason (Ohio) 3 p.m. Friday at Oakland.

Wilson Central (4-6) hosts Nazareth Academy (Illinois) Wednesday at 7 p.m.

The Wildcats will host Franklin County Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Warrior Spring Classic.

WHS 6, Gordonsville 1
WATERTOWN -- Lefty Kannan Atkins dominated Gordonsville Monday as Watertown scored a 6-1 win over their District 8-A baseball rivals.

Atkins twirled a complete game three-hitter, striking out five and walking just one batter.

Watertown scored three times in the bottom of the first and tacked on three more in the second as Atkins took it from there -- staying ahead in the count with 17 first pitch strikes.

Ty Love, Heath Price and Seth Price each had two hits as Love and Seth Price each drove in a pair of runs.

Bo Whitlock also had an RBI hit for the Purple Tigers -- who improved to 3-7 with the victory.

Watertown will be back in action Friday, April 1 as Eagleville comes to town for a 6 p.m. contest.

LCA sweeps Friendship
LEBANON -- Lancaster Christian swept Monday's doubleheader at Friendship Christian School 7-3 and 18-4.

The Commanders dropped to 6-6 on the season headed into a Tuesday home twinbill against The King's Academy.

Friendship is scheduled to play Saturday, April 2 at Jackson County High. First pitch is set for 11 a.m.

MJCA hosts FCA
Mt. Juliet Christian Academy is slated to host Franklin Christian Academy Thursday, March 31 in a 4 p.m. single game. The Saints moved to 5-4 on the season with a 1-3 run in the Ladd Memorial Classic in Union City over the weekend.

Mt. Juliet 10, Gallatin 0
Mt. Juliet knocked off Gallatin 10-0 Tuesday night in six innings -- moving to 8-2 on the season.
Saturday, March 26 the Golden Bears run-ruled Smyrna 10-0 in the 2016 home-opener.
