FCS wins on walk-off single
LEBANON -- Friendship Christian opened the 2016 baseball season in dramatic fashion Monday evening with a 4-3 walk-off victory over Gordonsville.

Eighth-grader Jared Dickey rapped a one-out single off the glove of a Tiger infielder to drive in Jared Lowe with the game winner.

Reliever Chad Holcomb worked the last four innings to get the decision, taking over for starter Matthew Swann.

The pair limited Gordonsville to four hits, but issued 10 walks with eight strikeouts.

Tarver Hayslip had an RBI double and Dickey drove in another run with a sacrifice fly.

MJ Christian 10, MT Monarchs 5
MT. JULIET -- Daniel Boehm rapped out three hits and drove three runs in Monday's season-opening 10-5 victory over the Middle Tennessee Monarchs.

The game marked the first vctory at the varsity level for new Saints coach Mike Kittrell.

MJCA led 4-1 early, only to see the Monarchs rally for a 5-4 advantage in the top of the third.

The Saints took back the lead at 7-5 in the bottom of the frame then put the game on ice with three more runs in the sixth inning.

Dawson Perry started and worked the first four innings to earn the win with three innings of relief help from Alex Pitman.

Perry helped his own caused driving in a run with two hits.

Cole Alsup and Caylor Bates each had RBI doubles while Nathan Green and Gavin Sellars each had RBI singles.
