Jan. 18 dinner at Victory Baptist
Former Vanderbilt shortstop Dansby Swanson, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 Major League Draft, will headline the annual Mt. Juliet High Baseball fundraising dinner.
The $35 per plate event will be held 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18 at Victory Baptist Church, 1777 Tate Lane.
Swanson, who helped lead Vandy to the 2014 NCAA national championship, was the first pick of the Arizona Diamondbacks, but was traded to the Atlanta Braves in a deal to acquire RHP Shelby Miller.
A native of Kennesaw, Ga., Swanson was named first team All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
He was also was one of four finalists for the 2015 Golden Spikes Award which is presented to the nation's top college baseball player
