Hawks will take over for Teeter
Longtime Wilson Countian Jeremy Hawks was introduced Thursday morning as the new girls basketball coach at Lebanon's Friendship Christian School.

Hawks, who will work as physical education teacher at Friendship's elementary school, has eight years experience as a boys assistant under former Lipscomb University great Adam Sonn -- the last four at Goodpasture.

"Jeremy come to us highly recommended and we're excited about the direction he will lead our girls," said FCS athletic director John McNeal.

Prior to his stint at Goodpasture, he assisted Sonn at University School of Nashville.

He has been a teacher in Metro Nashville for the past six years at Park Avenue and Cockrill elementary schools.

"I really enjoyed my time working with Adam," Hawks said, "he really helped me out a lot. He was a great player and made the transition to be a real mastermind of the game as a coach.

The Mt. Juliet High and Middle Tennessee State University graduate replaces Deanna Teeter who resigned May 2 after 14 seasons as head coach -- running up a record of 186-162.

"I'm super-excited to get started here at Friendship," Hawks said.

Hawks is married to Shannon Clark Hawks and they have four daughters -- Kaileigh 13, Aubrey 12, Jacie 9 and Emrie 4.
