Bates Ford Talent Search contestants announced

The Wilson County Convention and Visitor's Bureau and WSM 650 have announced the contestants in the Bates Ford Talent Search, which will be held during the "WSM Live From The Capitol Theatre" broadcast on Saturday from 1 until 3 p.m.

Competing performers are: Shawn Savage, Jaysen Gold, Erin McLendon, Chris Carpenter, Matt Campbell, Jamie Stever, Carmack and the Melody Dusters, Jessica Stiles, Taria, Sarah Jane Nelson, Brent Monnier, Zoe Nutt, Ashley Briggs, Jamie Brabham, Chazz Wesley and the T.C.M. Band, Lacey Canfield, Dry Creek Station, Jesse Lopez, Brittany Jean and Madeline Bales.

Two grand prize winners will be selected during the search and have the opportunity to open for the Oak Ridge Boys at the Wilson County Fair on August 23 or for Darryl Worley at the Capitol Theatre on July 9. Two other winners will have the opportunity to perform on the Fiddlers Grove Opry Stage during the Wilson County Fair.

During Saturday's competition, contestants must perform a cover song selected from a list of music provided. A house band will accompany contestants during the round. Judges will narrow down the contestants to the top 12. Those contestants will move on to the June 25 finals, where they will perform original songs live at the Capitol Theatre.

The event is sponsored by Bates Ford, Wilson Bank & Trust and Shiloh Music.
