Wilson County Sheriff Robert Bryan said he encourages anyone who can to sign up to donate blood in the Battle of the Badges Blood Drive, an event that benefits the county in a friendly competition between local law enforcement and fire/emergency personnel.
"We're in it to win it," Bryan said of this year's competition for bragging rights. "This year is going to be Wilson County Law Enforcement's year to win the Battle of the Badges and, when we win, all of Wilson County wins."
The first event is scheduled in Lebanon today from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Jimmy Floyd Family Center Multi-Purpose Room. The second event will be held in Mt. Juliet from 1 until 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25 at the Mt. Juliet Community Center Meeting Room.
