Beauty Work in Progress - Pelleve

Women are busy. Whether they be working at their careers, staying home to raise a family or just traveling the world - no woman wants to break too long for beauty. Surgical procedures are available for many issues - but when it comes to wrinkle reduction, most women seek fast, non-invasive treatments with minimal cost and downtime before electing to "go under the knife."

The Lett Center, with offices in Mt. Juliet and Lebanon, offers Pellevé - a treatment for wrinkle reduction. What is unique about Pellevé is that patients can accomplish the same great results as they do with laser treatments - with virtually no pain involved.

"Historically we have treated wrinkles and loose skin with a laser, such as Gentle Yag. The results are comparable, but with Pellevé there is no numbing and they do not have to put on protective eyewear unless the entire eyelid is being treated," Lett Center Aesthetician Kristi Lett said of the FDA approved radiofrequency treatment for wrinkle reduction and skin tightening.

While some areas, such as around the eyes, are more sensitive to treat - most patients have reported little to no pain. "It feels like a warm ultrasound," Lett said.

Depending on which area is treated - eyes, face and neck - patients should expect their visit to last 30-45 minutes. Lett continued that while some tightening is visible the day of treatment, it takes 30-45 days to model collagen in the skin and see optimal results.

"It is best used in a series," she added. Most patients opt to do 4-5 treatments, spaced 4-6 weeks apart.

"Pellevé is a treatment where patient selection is key. Patients anywhere from 35-60 with some wrinkling and loose skin would work well with Pellevé, whereas someone who has had dramatic weight loss and has a lot of excess skin would not."

Pellevé recently unveiled a new system that will also tighten body skin. Lett said it is expected to be available at The Lett Center in early 2015.

Cost to do the eyes is $350 and full face and neck is $550; however, in the month of December The Lett Center is offering 25 percent off Pellevé.
