Mt. Juliet was abuzz Monday afternoon when a tractor trailer truck carrying 420 beehives, and as many as 20 million bees, overturned.

The truck was traveling from California to North Carolina when the driver failed to maneuver a turn on Posey Hill Road in Mt. Juliet, causing the trailer to go off the road and flip over.

Wilson Emergency Management Director Joey Cooper said the driver is fine with no injuries.

The truck was carrying 420 hives with roughly 60,000 bees per hive. The Wilson County Bee Keepers Association assisted in collecting and transferring the bees.

The bees were not contained and the scene cleared until after 5 a.m. Tuesday morning.
