Bellamy joins Neal & Harwell

Mt. Juliet resident Christopher M. Bellamy has joined the law firm Neal & Harwell, PLC, as an associate.

An expert in complex legal issues in criminal law, civil law, family law and other matters, Bellamy will concentrate his practice on civil litigation.

"We are pleased to welcome Chris to Neal & Harwell," said Philip Irwin, chief manager of the firm. "His experience and leadership skills will be valuable to our team as well as to our clients."

For the past two years, Bellamy has served as assistant district attorney to the Tennessee District Attorney General, 19th Judicial District. Previously, he was assistant general counsel at the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance. Bellamy earned his J.D. at Vanderbilt University Law School. He holds a bachelor's degree in business management from Colorado Technical University.

Bellamy is a member of the Nashville Bar Association, the Nashville Bar Association Leadership Forum, the Belmont University College of Law Inn of Court and serves as the 2017 president of the Napier-Looby Bar Association. He also serves on the board of directors of the Legal Aid Society.

Bellamy also served in the United States Coast Guard for more than 10 years, where some of his notable accomplishments include the coordination of inter-agency security for the G-8 Summit; participation in the capture of modern-day pirates in the Indian Ocean; mission leader in the rescue of 156 Haitian migrants at sea; orphanage reconstruction project director in Eritea, Africa; leader of minority recruitment efforts; and recipient of the National Defense Medal, 9/11 Medal, Presidential Unit Citation and Humanitarian Service Award.
