GREENBRIER -- A celebration of life was held Saturday afternoon, Feb. 19 at the Austin & Bell Funeral Home for Mr. Dorris, 62, formerly of Watertown.
Born Oct. 10, 1948 in Chicago, IL to the late Leonard & Cleo Connor Dorris, he died suddenly Feb. 16, 2011 at his Springfield residence.
Mr. Dorris had worked for Robertson County Schools as a bus driver for over 15 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Watertown, where he formerly led the singing and was a deacon.
Services were conducted by Brother Tommy Payne and Rev. Earl Williams officiating.
Interment was at Robertson County Memorial Garden
Survivors include: children William Dorris of Murfreesboro, Michelle (Keith) Swafford of Hermitage and Nicholle (Michael) Bagnall of Murfreesboro.
Also surviving: siblings Steve Dorris of Springfield, Diann Dorris and Jack Bedford -- both of Atlanta, GA and Donna Ruth Dorris and Greenbrier; and grandaughter Laura Bagnell.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
