Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 30 at the Partlow Funeral Chapel for Mr. Thorne, 84, of Lebanon. A U.S. Navy veteran who served during the Korean War, Mr. Thorne died Friday, June 26, 2015 following an extended illness.

The son of the late Jim & Lilly Kelley Thorne, he was a salesman and a member of the Fairview Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held between the hours of 3-8 p.m. Monday, June 29 and Tuesday, June 30 from 10 a.m. until funeral. Services will be conducted by Dr. Michael Christian and Bro. Gordon Lee. Interment will follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include children: Billy E. (Pam) Thorne Jr., Jimbo (Sandra) Thorne, Tommy (Kristie) Thorne; Patricia (Tom) Winford and Penny (Dave) Harrell.

Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, six great grandchildren; sister-in-law Mildred Thorne; brother Robert (Rose) Anderson; special friends Uncle Dean & Aunt Ann West; numerous nieces, nephews, along with other loving family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Thorne is preceded in death by his wife Catherine E. Maynard Thorne and brother Thomas R. Thorne.

Mr. Thorne's family will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will include Mr. Thorne's Sunday School Class at Fairview Baptist Church and the Liar's Breakfast Table at Elaine's Restaurant.

In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to Sherry's Run, St. Jude Children's Hospital or to the Cedar Grove Baptist Church Building Fund.

Arrangements are in the care of Lebanon's Partlow Funeral Chapel.
