Blackwood named Academic All-America

She registered a 5-5 record with a 2.73 ERA in the circle as well in 21 appearances with nine starts. Blackwood recorded one save and three complete games in 74.1 innings of work with 42 strikeouts. Opponents batted just .239 against her in 2013.

She finished her four-year career with 227 hits, including 35 doubles, 24 home runs and 159 RBIs in 212 games with 55 walks and 68 runs scored. Blackwood collected 39 victories in 115 appearances and 76 starts, tossing 533.2 innings with 37 complete games, eight shutouts and 287 strikeouts.

Blackwood is a four-time All-Conference honoree, earning First Team All-League accolades in each of the last three seasons and was CUs 2013 recepiant of the Lindsey Donnell Award.

She carries a 3.61 grade-point-average in Early Childhood Growth and Learning and will graduate in December. She has been a member of the Deans List for the past seven semesters and is a member of Kappa Delta Pi Education honor society.

She has earned Conference Scholar-Athlete honors each of the last three years and will garner her second NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete award later in May.
