LEBANON -- A funeral service is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2 at the Sellars Funeral Home on the Baddour Parkway for Mr. Strawbridge, 69, of the Brush Creek Community.
Born June 26, 1942 in Baldwyn, MS. to the late U. L. Bill Strawbridge and Alene Strawbridge Russell, he died Oct. 29, 2011 at his High Point Ranch in Brush Creek.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the service.
He was a 1961 graduate of Groveland High School, Groveland, FL.
He is retired from the State of Florida, Division of Fruit and Vegetable Inspection, where he worked 37 years. He was a member of the Bay Lake Baptist Church in Groveland, Fla.
He was a member of the Florida FFA Alumni Assoc., Florida Cattlemens Assoc., Lake Co. Cattlemens Assoc., North American Limousin Foundation, Fla. Limousin Assoc., Tennessee Limousin Breeders Assoc., Smith Co. TN. Cattlemans Assoc., Southeastern Pinzgauer Assoc.
He raised Limousin cattle and ran a horse/dog rescue at his ranch.
Mr. Strawbridge was an avid gardener, fisherman, model car collector and a Florida Gator fan.
He is preceded in death by his parents and by brothers Billy Wayne Strawbridge and Roger Dale Strawbridge and sister Pamela Strawbridge Hamblin.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years Karen Bolin Strawbridge; mother Audry Williams Strawbridge, Pontotoc, MS; children William (Bill) Strawbridge, Christopher Hood and Robin Strawbridge -- all of Brush Creek; Patrick Strawbridge and Wes Hayton and Susan Allan -- all of Lebanon; and Renda (Richard) Howell of Clermont, FL;
Also surviving are three sisters, a brother, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Bobby has requested in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his wife Karen, to continue his wild mustang rescue efforts.
