The Wilson County Board of Education unanimously approved a contract to hire Dr. Donna Wright as the new Director of Schools, effective July 1.

According to Board Chairman Don Weathers, Wright will receive a base salary of $155,000 with incentive “if key goals are reached.”

This is the second time that Wright, the Assistant Superintendent of Williamson County Schools, has sought the Director position in Wilson County. She was one of two top finalists for the position in spring 2013; however, the board selected Dr. Tim Setterlund, who came from Shelby County Schools.

Setterlund was offered a base salary of $165,000, but with no incentives.

The Wilson Post will have additional details of the contract as soon as they are released.
