The Wilson County Board of Education will meet on Monday, Jan. 7 at a special 5 p.m. time. Chairman of the Board Don Weathers said an item regarding choosing a plan for a new middle school will be on the agenda; however, he was quick to add that a final decision could easily not be made. Weathers said a decision will be only made if the board feels confident in the amount of information gained.
The item last appeared on the agenda in 2012 and was deferred to the Jan. 2013 meeting. The board held two public work sessions in December 2012 to consider using newer portions of the former Lebanon High School facility on Harding Drive for a grades 6-8 school.
The plan would pull those grades from Carroll Oakland, Southside and Tuckers Crossroads Elementary to alleviate overcrowding in those schools.
