WCHS District 12 champs

Seven headed to state as individuals
SMYRNA -- Wilson Central's Lady Wildcats bowling team captured the District 12 tournament title with a 21.5 to 5.5 win over Lebanon in Tuesday afternoon's finals at the Smyrna Bowling Center.

Kayla Hubbuch rolled a 194 and Rickie Denson had a 181 for Central.

Lebanon High coaches David Fugate and Chuck Manning were named District 12 Coaches of the Year.

Three Wilson County girls will advance to the TSSAA state tournament as individuals, including: soph Lindsay Manning of Lebanon (196.97); senior Jessica Giacobbi of Mt. Juliet (195.14) and senior Rickie Denson of Wilson Central (177.37).

Four local boys will be advancing to the state as individuals, including: senior Peyton Bell (214.72); junior Jarred Bradshaw (204.93): soph Tyler Moore -- all of Lebanon (203.62) and Mt. Juliet soph Ben Giacobbi (202.89).

The TSSAA state tournament will be held Jan. 21, 22 and 23 at the Smyrna Bowling Center.
