LEBANON -- Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, March 30 at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home for Mr. Bale, 86, of Lebanon. Known as "Johnny" to his friends and family, Mr. Bale passed away Saturday, Mar. 27, 2010, at the University Medical Center in Lebanon.
Born Dec. 16, 1923, in Green County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Charles Bronston and Myra Ora Wright Bale. Mr. Bale was a US Army veteran of World War II and had received the Purple Heart. He was a Civil Service employee and a clock builder, having built 510 clocks. Mr. Bale was a Mason, a Shriner and a member of the Wilson County Sportsman’s Club.
Services were conducted by Brother Todd Elliott. Crypt side services are planned 2 PM EDT Wednesday at the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Tucker, Georgia.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Eleanor Jenkins Bale; children Patricia (Robert) Morneau of Port Charlotte, FL; Elden (Cathy) Bale Jr. of Nashville; and Daniel Bale and Bruce Mancill of Mt. Juliet; grandchildren Robert (Sue) Morneau of Elkton, MD; Joseph (Betty) Morneau of Smyrna, DE; and Jeffrey (Cori) Morneau of Wilmington, DE; nine great grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers included: Frankie’s Coffee Drinkers. Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
