State and local officials, along with family members, gathered at Florida Creek in the Greenvale community Friday to dedicate a bridge in honor of Staff Sgt. Robert "Bobby" McGuire Jr. McGuire graduated from Watertown High School in 1992 and immediately enlisted in the United States Air Force. In 2000, he was assigned to the 15th Special Operations Squadron at Hurlburt Field in Florida.

He served in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. On August 7, 2002, while on a training mission, his MC-130H warplane crashed into a mountainside in Puerto Rico, claiming all 10 lives aboard. He was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery.
