The Carroll Oakland volleyball team will be hosting a Dig Pink night Thursday, Sept 8 beginning at 4:30 vs. West Wilson Middle School.
Dig Pink is a movement among Volleyball teams, both school and club organizations, to raise awareness and funds for cancer research.
Most schools do a Pink October, but with the Wilson County Volleyball Association ending its season at the end of September, Carroll Oakland has chosen to participate during the month of September.
We have chosen to support Sherrys Run this year with our Dig Pink night, said
coach John Stephens.
Attendees to the Sept. 8 game will have the opportunity to make donations directly to Sherrys Run.
We ask that all checks be made out directly to Sherrys Run. The Carroll Oakland cheerleaders will be taking donations at the door and several lucky members of the crowd will go home with Sherrys Run T-shirts, Stephens said.
C-O won the Silver Division of the Mule Town Classic hosted by Spring Hill Middle School the weekend of Aug. 26 and 27.
Team members include, front, from left: Jessica Rowland, Carlie Fox, Brianna Nagelhout, and Kayla Rodrigues. Back: Ashlyn Bell, Shelby Jones, Addison Byrd, Kendra Brown, Amanda Greene, Bailey Sells, Makayla Crowder, Taylor Black and Destinee Magley.
