LEBANON -- Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, May 26 at the Partlow Chapel for Mr. Kahl, 95, of Lebanon. A former mechanic with McDowell Motors and an avid gardner, he died Friday, May 22, 2009 at the University Medical Center.
Mr. Kahl was a member of the Baptist faith and the son of the late Calvin Newton and Ida Eleanor Hanewalt Kahl. Services were conducted by Bro. Buford Bane and Dr. Robert Jantz. Interment was in the Wilson County Memorial Gardens.
Survived by wife Bonnie L. Kahl; son Bernie (Kay) Kahl; granddaughters Bonnie (Paul) Hawk and Connie (Kris) Franklin; great granddaughter Alexis Franklin; grandchildren in Kansas Tina, Joseph and Sandy Becerra as well as numerous great great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sister Alice Rolf, daughter Judy Becerra and two brothers.
Active pallbearers: Danny, Eddy and Sammy Ferrell, Gary Enzfelder, Sammy Patton and Bill McDowell. Honorary: employees of Sunrise Diner & Sunset Restaurant.
