LEBANON -- Cumberland University’s award-winning coaching staff and student-athletes will be hosting camps and clinics in seven different sports throughout the summer.

While both entertaining and educational, the camps will feature drills, in-depth strategy and position play instruction for baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball, tennis and wrestling. CU will also offer a cheerleading camp. Ages for each camp varies by sport, ranging from elementary-aged children to high school student-athletes.

Hall of Fame baseball coach Woody Hunt will direct four camps, focusing on hitting, pitching and fundamentals. Baseball camps begin on June 13 and each runs for four days.

Softball players ages 6-12 may participate in one of two four-day camps offered by head coach Heather Stanfill. The first camp begins June 13.

A four-day basketball camp, hosted by women’s coach Jeremy Lewis and his staff, begins on July 25 and is open to boys and girls ages 6-13.

Volleyball coach Dwayne Deering is offering three different camps for middle school and high school teams as well as a Volleyball Skills School from June 8-11.

Two tennis sessions, for ages 5 and up, are available with each running three days a week for four weeks. The first camp begins June 6.

A five-day wrestling camp, taught by CU head coach Jarad Swint, starts June 13 with two sessions per day and is open to all ages.

Cumberland’s one-day cheerleading camp will begin at 9 a.m. on June 4 for ages 5-14.
