Candidacy deadline sets local races

A total of 106 candidates submitted have submitted their petitions to appear on the Aug. 5 ballot for Primaries and the General Election.

Candidates had until noon, yesterday, to submit their petitions. They now have until noon, Thursday, April 8, to withdraw and must do so in writing.

Included on the ballot for the Primary races are State Senate District 17 and State Representative Districts 46 and 57.

State Executive Committee men and women for the Republican and Democratic Parties are on the ballot.

Also on the ballot for the General Election are all 25 seats of the Wilson County Commission. Wilson County Mayor, Trustee, Sheriff, Circuit Court Clerk, County Clerk, Register of Deeds, Wilson County Board of Education, Zones 2 and 4; Lebanon Special School District Board of Education and Constables in Zones, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
