She was a graduate of Eastern New Mexico State University and attended Middle Tennessee State University. In 1997 she was a National Science Teachers Association delegate to the K-8 Science Education Leadership Institute at the Smithsonian in Washington, DC.
Mrs. Hobbs was honored in the Eight and Ninth Edition of Whos Who Among Americas Teachers. Since retiring in 2005 she has remained active by mentoring for the Teach Tennessee Program, substitute teaching and teaching water aerobics at Sports Village. She was a member of Bartons Creek Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hobbs was preceded in death by father, Arthur Spec Krattiger; mother and step-father Jimmie and Garth Jordan.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Don A. Hobbs; daughters Misti (Robert Jr.) Molchan of Murfreesboro and Heather (Stuart) Irby of Lebanon; grandchildren Mikah Hobbs, Blaine Fussell, Taiv Molchan, Adayln and Kali Irby; brother Thomas (Molly) Krattiger.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Oct. 4, at 10 a.m. at the Bartons Creek Baptist Church with Bro. Donald Owens and Bro. Charles McKnight officiating. Interment will be in the Bartons Creek Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers: Sports Village Water Aerobics Class, West Wilson Middle School Teachers and Staff, Wes Thompson, Shirley Dewitt, Laura Honeyman, Jamie Brooks, Sonya Duncan, Donna Fussell. Active pallbearers: Stuart Irby, Rob Molchan, Wayne Beadle, Chuck Farmer, Randy Dewitt, Joe Alsup.
Visitation Wednesday 2-8 p.m. at Ligon & Bobo and one hour before services at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Bartons Creek Baptist Church Helping Hands Project.
