She enjoyed volunteering at University Medical Center and the Lebanon Help center along with many other community organizations.
Mrs. Hallum was a lifetime member and a Woman of the Year for the Lebanon Business Professional Womens Club. She was a member of Lebanons First United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for 60 years.
She often said her secret for a long healthy life was to, "stay busy helping others".
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 19 between the hours of 4-8 p.m. at the Partlow Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the service at the First United Methodist Church.
Services will be conducted by Pastor David Bucky Hesson. Interment will folloa at the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include: children Raymond (Julia) Hallum, Joe (Chris) Hallum, Charles Pepper (Edna) Hallum and Rachel Faye (Charlie) Edwards. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Charles Wesley and Aggie Lena Shoemake Martin; husband Eugene Hallum; son Robert Hallum; brothers Clarence Martin and Shelah Martin; sister Ruby Martin.
Active pallbearers: Ricky Hallum, Danny Hallum, Chris Hallum, Mike Hallum, Mark Hallum and Jerry Hardin. Honorary: friends and members of Lebanons First United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made in Mrs. Hallums memory to Lebanons First United Methodist Church, 415 West Main Street, Lebanon, 37087.
