GLADEVILLE -- Wilson Central spotted Lebanon an early 6-0 lead, then rolled to a 43-6 victory over the Blue Devils Friday at Wildcat Stadium.
Clinging to a 13-6 halftime lead, Coach Brad Dedman's squad scored nine points in a 25-second spurt in the third quarter, on a safety and and an 8-yard run by Vic Johnson.
Wilson Central improved to 5-4 overall headed into a Senior Night game next week vs. Gallatin, while Lebanon slid to 2-7 with a road trip to Beech left on the schedule. The win marked Central's fourth consecutive victory over their cross town rivals.
"Obviously I didn't do a very good job of getting our kids ready to play," said LHS coach Sam Harp. "We were on a different planet in the first half, going in all kind of different directions. It was quite disappointing because we haven't done that kind of stuff all year."
WCHS quarterback Jordan Roundtree completed 11-of-19 passes for 189 yards and three touchdowns. Tight end Zack Dover caught three balls for 95 yards and two scores.
The Wildcats finished with 284 yards in total offense and 11 first downs. Lebanon managed 151 yards and nine first downs.
Taye Davis rushed for 62 yards on 14 carries and scored the only LHS points on a 28 yards blast off tackle.
