He noted that the names of children to receive toys this Christmas is up by about 300 this year.
“Donations are down and referrals are up.”
Harding said businesses and others who have donated either monetarily or by providing toys in the past have cut back this year due to the economy, but the need has increased.
“I don’t know if we’re going to make it or not,” he said, adding that applications will not be accepted after 5 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 10. “Everybody’s feeling the pinch.”
