LEBANON -- The next new firehouse in Lebanon may be built on South Eastgate Court, according to approvals given by Lebanon City Council at its most recent meeting, but that doesn't mean construction will begin anytime soon.
The council voted to approve, on first reading, funding for consulting architectural, engineering and design services for the proposed fire house on South Eastgate.
Likewise, the council voted, on first reading, to permit advertising for bids for construction, although according to Ward 1 Councilor Lanny Jewell, there are no funds in the budget to build the firehouse.
Ward 6 Councilor Kathy Warmath said the council often approves such plans and then shelves them until it does have the funds.
