Please place all small and loose items in trash bags.
Please separate out wood and metal.
Please note the city does not pick up any chemicals or used motor oil.
The City will pick up electronic devices with a cord (computers, televisions, microwaves, etc.). All compressors and doors must be removed from refrigerators and freezers.
Please note city workers cannot pick up tires, paint, wet batteries, mattresses, box springs, carpet and carpet padding or construction waste. For disposal of these items, contact the Wilson County Solid Waste office at 444-8360.

Please be reminded that residential chipper service is on a monthly schedule.
The City has been divided into two zones. Zone 1 pick-up starts on the first Monday of each month. Zone 2 pick-up starts the on the third Monday of each month. If you are not sure of your zone, contact the City Street Department at 444-0825 ext. 121 or the Commissioner of Public Works office at 443-2824.
Please note that the chipper service is provided for the residents routine disposal of limbs/brush 6 inches or less in diameter from wind damage, pruning/trimming of low-hanging limbs and shrubs, etc. Items should be placed out the weekend prior to your zones pick-up.
Brush piles should not exceed 10-feet-by-8-feet-by 5-feet high.
Please be reminded that city workers do not pick up root balls, stumps or logs.
City officials also remind everyone that the service is not for tree topping or the removal of limbs left by a private contractor.
