WATERTOWN – Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, April 9 at the Hunter Funeral Home for Mrs. Nixon, 89, of Watertown. A native of DeKalb County and a former garment factory worker, Mrs. Nixon died April 7, 2009 at Lebanon’s University Medical Center.
The daughter of the late Issac Yates Taylor and Hattie Jewell Belle Tisdale Taylor, she was a member of the Round Lick Baptist Church.
Services were conducted by Rev. W.L. Baker and Rev. Steve Mayle. Burial followed at the Mt. Holley Cemetery in Smithville.
Survivors include: son Carl (Annette) Nixon of Mt. Juliet; granddaughters Lisa Harvey of Saginaw, Texas and Lori Dean of Mt. Juliet. Also surviving are siblings: Joe (Helen) Taylor, Onie Margaret Durham, Oma Frances Taylor and Audrey Pearl Taylor – all of Smithville as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband Robert Dee Nixon, four brothers and four sisters.
