Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) post for Wilson County is Post 5015 in Lebanon. The Post meets at 6 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month in the Veterans Building at the James E. Ward Agricultural Center. Any veteran who has been awarded a Campaign Medal or Combat Medal for any hostility is eligible for membership, verified by the veterans' DD 214 Form. Presently, Post 5015 is having success in rebuilding its post and becoming active in district and local events. It is not a Lebanon post, but a countywide post. The Telephone Pioneers Cookbooks, Vol. I and III, have been discontinued. There are a limited number left. To obtain one, call 615-310-7080 or 615-828-3147. The proceeds will be used for the upkeep of the telephone museum.

GED/HiSET Prep Classes are offered day and night. The Adult Learning Center is a nonprofit organization providing free GED/HiSET preparation classes and basic literacy classes for the community. Contact the ALC at 615-443-8731 for information. In addition to the 107 N. Greenwood location in Lebanon, day classes are offered in Watertown and night classes are in Mt. Juliet and Old Hickory. Free classes are offered at West Wilson Middle School on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Classes are also available in Carthage and Hartsville. Anyone interested in obtaining their high school equivalency diploma should contact the ALC.

Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce hosts Wilson County Mayor Randall Hutto from 1:30 until 3 p.m., the last Wednesday of each month, and District 46 State Rep. Mark Pody from 8 until 10 a.m., the first Friday of each month, at the chamber's office at 149 Public Square. Citizens are encouraged to come and share their concerns and views with these elected officials.

NA (Narcotics Anonymous) meets at Lebanon Cumberland Presbyterian Church at 522 Castle Heights Ave., Lebanon, at 7:30 p.m., Mondays and Fridays. For information, call the helpline at 1-888-476-2482 or visit www.nanashville.org.

Meals On Wheels volunteers are needed to deliver meals in Mt. Juliet to homebound older adults on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Meals are ready to be picked up by 9:30 a.m., at the Mt. Juliet Senior Activity Center, 2034 North Mt. Juliet Road, and the delivery usually takes about an hour. Routes are typically less than 20 miles of travel. You can volunteer weekly, monthly or as your schedule permits. For information, call Dawn Cathey, site manager, at 758-2777.

Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 7463 Hickory Ridge Road, Mt. Juliet, has opened a food pantry available to those who have a need. The pantry is open the third Wednesday of every month, from 5 until 6:30 p.m., and is for all Wilson County residents. For information, call 444-2390.

Celebrate Recovery: Support for hurts, hang-ups and habits, meets from 7 until 9 p.m. on Thursdays at Fairview Church, the left-side entrance, on Leeville Pike, Lebanon. For information, contact Sonny Warmath at 707-0305.

Lebanon Toastmasters meet every Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the Lebanon/Wilson County Chamber of Commerce at 149 Public Square in Lebanon. Visitors are welcome. Toastmasters is an organization dedicated to improving communication and leadership skills. For information, call 444-0126.

Retired Senior Volunteer Program of Wilson County is in need of volunteers who would like to participate or partner with the program, call 443-7606 or 742-1113, ext. 10.

Agape has contracted with Maple Hill church of Christ to provide counseling services in Lebanon. Matt Shoemaker, M.S., will be available for counseling at the church building on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. He sees children and adults. For information, call 547-4244.

Lebanon Friendship AL-ANON and ALATEEN Family Groups, for family and friends of alcoholics which meets at Our House at 115 North Greenwood Street, is changing the time of meetings to 7 p.m., Sundays and Thursdays. Contacts are Harriet at 444-2852 and Lynda at 444-8434.

Piecemakers Quilt Club meets on the second Thursday of each month at First United Methodist Church. The Knitting and Prayer Shawl Ministry meets every Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m. in the Craft Room of the Family Life Center, and Sit n' Stitchers meet every Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Craft Room. Wilson County Road Commission will meet on Friday, April 1 at 9 a.m. at the road commission office. The Wilson County Urban Type Public Facilities Board meeting will immediately follow.

Wilson County Library Board will meet on Monday, April 4 at 5:30 p.m. at the Lebanon-Wilson County Public Library.

Wilson County Board of Education will meet in a regular session on Monday, April 4 at 6 p.m. at the central office, located at 351 Stumpy Lane in Lebanon.

Tennova Volunteer Auxiliary in conjunction with Foot Solutions Inc. will host a Comfort Shoe Sale on Thursday, April 7 from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Friday, April 8 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. The sale will be held in the hospital's Community Cares Classroom and feature women's and men's comfort shoes. Arch support inserts, socks and other foot care accessories will be available.

Wilson County Retired Teachers Association will meet on Thursday, April 7 at the West Main Street branch of Wilson Bank & Trust in Lebanon at 10 a.m. A lunch will be provided by WB&T, and WCRTA member reservations are required for the meeting. The program will be presented by Cumberland University's Dr. Eric Cummings. The service project for this month will be contributions for the Books from Birth program. Wilson County Republican Party Executive Committee meeting will be held on Thursday, April 7 at 7 p.m. at Kevin' Automotive, located at 500 South Cumberland Street in Lebanon.

Wilson County Republican Party Membership meeting will be Saturday, April 9 at 9 a.m. with the Cumberland University Republicans. The meeting will be held on the CU campus in Labry Hall, Room 130.

Wellspring Prep Academy Spring Festival and Open House will be held on Saturday, April 16 from noon until 4 p.m. Enjoy an afternoon of fun activities, including inflatables, games, face painting, music, demonstrations and more. Wellspring Prep Academy is located at 1008 Meb Court in Mt. Juliet.

Lebanon VFW Post 5015's 9th Flag Retirement Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 20 at 6 p.m. at the Ward Agricultural Center in Lebanon. Worn, torn and tattered flags are now being collected at Uncle Pete's Truck Stop and the Wilson County Veterans Office at the courthouse.

Wilson County Fellowship of Christian Athletes Inaugural Golf Classic will be held on Friday, June 3 at Pine Creek Golf Course.
