Cedar Creek Community Band meets for rehearsal from 7 until 9 p.m., Mondays, at Mt. Juliet High School, 1800 Curd Road, Mt. Juliet. Alzheimer’s & Dementia Support Group for Caregivers meets at 5 p.m., the second Sunday of each month, in Room 210 at Maple Hill church of Christ on the corner of Maple Hill Road and West Main Street, Lebanon. The group is for caregivers who have loved ones with Alzheimer’s or Dementia and allows caregivers to talk with others who are experiencing some of the same difficulties and in return find help and encouragement. Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce hosts Wilson County Mayor Randall Hutto from 1:30 until 3 p.m., the last Wednesday of each month, and District 46 State Rep. Mark Pody from 8 until 10 a.m., the first Friday of each month, at the Chamber’s office at 149 Public Square. Citizens are encouraged to come and share their concerns and views with these elected officials.

Meals On Wheels volunteers are needed to deliver meals in Mt. Juliet to homebound older adults on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Meals are ready to be picked up by 9:30 a.m., at the Mt. Juliet Senior Activity Center, 2034 North Mt. Juliet Road, and the delivery usually takes about an hour. Routes are typically less than 20 miles of travel. Mt. Juliet Senior Activity Center offers a number of activities. Join the “Over the Hill Choir” at 10 a.m. every Monday. In addition to weekly choir practice, the group performs for senior programs in the community. Karaoke is held at 12:30 p.m., every third Tuesday of the month. And a Good Old Time Country Music Show is from 1 until 3 p.m., every Thursday. Bring your acoustic instrument and join the performers or just come and listen. Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 7463 Hickory Ridge Road, Mt. Juliet, has opened a food pantry available to those who have a need. The pantry is open the third Wednesday of every month, from 5 until 6:30 p.m., and is for all Wilson County residents. For information, call 444-2390.

Piecemakers Quilt Club meets on the second Thursday of each month at First United Methodist Church. Last year’s recipients will present awards to two people who have made a difference for the conservative cause in Tennessee. Tickets are $50 each or $300 for a sponsor table of six. Wilson County Board of Education will meet in a work session at 4 p.m., Friday, June 6, at the Central Office, 351 Stumpy Lane, Lebanon, to discuss medical/dental, P&C and worker’s compensation insurance and the fiscal year 2014-2015 budget. The board will meet in a special called session following the work session, if necessary, to approve the medical/dental, P&C and worker’s compensation insurance agreements, also at the Central Office.

Wilson County Road Commission will meet at 9 a.m., Friday, June 6, in the Road Commission office and will be immediately followed by the Urban Type Public Facilities Board in the same location.

Encore Theatre Company presents a free play at 6 p.m., Saturday, June 7, in Charlie Daniels Park, 1075 Charlie Daniels Pkwy., Mt. Juliet. The play, “So You Say You’re Not a Princess…” is presented in partnership with Acting Up! Theater Camp and is written, produced and directed by Camp Directors Breonna Parker and Renee Lierow. “Jammin’ With the General” will be presented at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, June 12, a the Lebanon Public Square and will feature a display of cars in the center of the Square, compliments of the Antique Automobile Club of America which will hold is 2014 Grand National and SE Fall Dual Meet at the James E. Ward Agricultural Center that week. Headlining the June Jammin’ event will be Johnny Counterfit with opening acts Payton Taylor and Trisha Yearwood impersonator Corrie Cluck.

“Mt. Juliet Star” welcomes you to come and sing at the Relay For Life at Charlie Daniels Park on Saturday, June 14. Relay For Life will be noon until midnight, and the competition is from 7 until 8 p.m. Ages for participation are 8 and up with five age categories. Each contestant will have a container on stage and the audience will judge and contribute money to their favorite performer. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.
