Lebanon High School senior Whitten 'Whit' Allen Robertson passed away Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015.

Whit, who suffered from brain cancer, was 17-years-old.

He is survived by his parents, Neal and Tammy Robertson; brother, Ethan Robertson; aunts, Allena Wiese and Heather Boyd (Tyler); uncles, Jesse Robertson (Kayla), Geoff Stutts (Julie) and Greg Stutts.

A post made to the Whit's Warrior Facebook page updated Whit's many friends and supporters on their loss.

"We are saddened beyond words to tell you that Whit passed away at 11:45 this morning. He was at home, in his own room, in his own bed, surrounded by family and friends," wrote father, Neal Robertson, in the detailed post. "Whit wanted us to let everyone know that he loves all of you and treasured your prayers, the cards you sent and the countless acts of kindness you have shown him and our whole family through this terrible time. He was concerned about how his passing would affect our family and his friends - that was Whit for you - always putting the feelings of others before himself."

Whit was an Eagle Scout and a lifeguard at Coles Ferry Pool. He was very active in his church, Maple Hill Church of Christ.

"He was a really good kid and a fine Christian young man," said Sherry's Run Administrative Assistant Corrie Cluck. Cluck got to know Whit through Sherry's Run, which benefits those affected by cancer, and through church.

Whit's Warrior had a record breaking number of team members at the 2015 Sherry's Run in September.

Cluck said it was "by far the largest team we've ever had."

"The day of the run we counted 478, including Maple Hill Church of Christ and Lebanon Fire Department - who gifted their registrations toward his team as well. He ended up with 488," she explained. "It just shows what a special person he was."

The family will receive friends on Saturday, from 4-8 p.m. at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon. The funeral service, conducted by Bro. Tim Parish, will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18 at Maple Hill Church of Christ. Interment will follow in Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens.
