The daughter of the late country music legend Hank Williams Sr. was arrested and charged early Tuesday morning for driving under the influence by Lebanon Police.

Chief Scott Bowen said in a news release that Jett Williams Adkinson of Hartsville was driving a 1998 tan Jaguar on a Lebanon road when officers stopped the car at 2:35 a.m. for suspicion of DUI after observing it swerve between lanes.

Officers approached the driver who identified herself. He said that officers noted a smell associated with alcohol coming from Adkinson and that she also reportedly had slurred speech and admitted to drinking two beers.

Adkinson was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which she did not perform satisfactorily. In addition, she also told officers that she was the daughter of Hank Williams Sr.

Adkinson was arrested and charged with DUI and was issued citations for not wearing a seat belt and not having proof of current insurance.
