Wilson County Schools will accept kindergarten applications from Monday, April 3, through Wednesday, April 5, during normal school hours, according to schools spokesperson Jennifer Johnson.

Parents of children who will start kindergarten during the 2017-18 school year should begin the online registration process at www.wcschools.com/registration. State law requires that all kindergarten students must be five years old on or before August 15 in order to start school during the 2017-18 school year.

Parents who already have a student enrolled in a county school should log into their Family Access account and choose the tab for "New Student Online Enrollment." Once the online process is complete, parents can go to their zoned school on their scheduled appointment date. Parents must bring the following to their appointment: two proofs of residency, birth certificate, Tennessee Public School Immunization Certificate with proof of physical, Social Security card, custody papers if applicable and a photo ID of parent or guardian.

Parents with a Pre-K student currently enrolled in a Wilson County School will receive instructions from the school on how to enroll their child, Johnson noted.

She added parents of registered kindergarten students for the 2017-18 school year are invited to attend Wilson County Schools Kindergarten Nights, on the following dates and times: Gladeville Elementary, April 13, 5 until 7 p.m.; Carroll-Oakland Elementary, April 24, 5 until 6:30 p.m.; Mt. Juliet Elementary, May 8, 4:30 until 6:30 p.m.; W.A. Wright Elementary, April 13, 4 until 6 p.m.; Tuckers Crossroads Elementary, April 17, 5 until 7 p.m.; Elzie D.
