County to cut wheel tax sticker on plates

  Email   Print

Beginning Jan. 2, 2013, local residents will no longer receive a wheel tax decal when paying that tax. Goodall pointed out the state decal is considered proof that a driver has paid the wheel tax.

Wilson Countys wheel tax is $25.

If youre expired on the state decal, then youre expired on the county decal. You cant get the state decal without paying the wheel tax, he said.

Goodall said the elimination of the wheel tax decal will save the county about $5,000 each year by cutting the cost of ordering and printing the decals.
