Agents with Crye-Leike Real Estate Services' Mt. Juliet branch office recently put business on hold to host the office's 13th annual Martin Cummings Sweet Tooth Auction, raising $9,147 for local charities.
Agents host the auction each year during the company's United Way campaign to raise money for non-profits supported by United Way of Wilson County, inviting their clients, peers, friends, vendors and the public to attend the auction.
The proceeds from this year's Sweet Tooth Auction will benefit Empower Me Day Camp and the Mt. Juliet Senior Activity Center, organizers said. Crye-Leike recently presented the Mt. Juliet office with the United Way Golden Heart Award for the fund-raising effort.
Since 2004, Crye-Leike's Mt. Juliet office has raised more than $50,000 via the Sweet Tooth Auction. The auction is named in memory of the late Martin Cummings, the first managing broker of Crye-Leike's Mt. Juliet office.
"Martin was a devoted fund-raising volunteer in his community, raising over $1 million for numerous charities during his real estate career," Crye-Leike organizers and affiliate broker Joann Pucciarelli said. "Martin always stressed to us agents to give back to the community we serve, and that is just what we at Crye-Leike's Mt. Juliet office continue to do each year to honor his memory."
