CU baseball adds game at TNU

Cumberland and TNU will play at Jackson Field on the TNU campus. Lights were installed at the facility for this season, with the Trojans posting a 21-8 record at home.


The Bulldogs are 56-24 all-time against Trevecca Nazarene after TNUs 7-4 win in Lebanon on April 17 and CU is 22-12 all-time at Jackson Field versus the Trojans.


Cumberland dropped two spots to No. 13 in this weeks NAIA Coaches Top 25 after going 1-2 in the Mid-South Conference Championships in Kingsport, Tenn. The Bulldogs defeated Shawnee State, 3-1, before dropping a 2-0 decision to Campbellsville University in 11 innings. Georgetown College eliminated CU from the tournament with a 7-2 victory.


The Bulldogs will learn where and whom it will play in the NAIA Championship Opening Round this Monday, May 6 by Noon.


The five-team tournament runs May 9-13 at nine different sites around the nation, including Cleveland, Tenn., Kingsport, Tenn., Montgomery, Ala., Hattiesburg, Miss., Joliet, Ill., Daytona Beach, Calif., Oklahoma City, Okla., Claremore, Okla., and Santa Clarita, Calif.
